The Turtle Lodge Presents a Special Winter Solstice Presentation: “Lighting the Sacred Fire.”

On November 6 2021, hundreds gathered at The Turtle Lodge International Centre for Indigenous Education and Wellness in Sagkeeng First Nation to honour Elder Dr. Dave Courchene, Jr.'s Spiritual Names and his Vision of Turtle Lodge.

The Vision received by Dave Courchene (Nii Gaani Aki Inini - Leading Earth Man), Anishnabe Nation, Eagle Clan, and the original building of the Turtle Lodge in 2002. Credit to Filmmaker Marco Mascarin, 2002.

A 12-minute short film about this international ceremonial gathering focusing on Indigenous-led solutions to climate change, led by Turtle Lodge in 2017.
