As Indigenous people, we have always acted in stewardship of the land. The journey initiated by the Lummi Nation encourages us to unite, to have a stronger voice that appeals and encourages those who would continue to exploit the Earth, to reconsider these acts of disrespect for the Earth, and to make an alliance with the Earth itself.
Making a Call for all Hand Drums! In accordance with traditional protocol, all are asked to bring a Gift for the Traditional Giveaway September 6!

3:45 pm at Oodena Circle, Winnipeg – Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Grand Chief Derek Nepinak speaks on the significance of the Totem Pole Journey
4:00 pm at Oodena Circle, Winnipeg – Walking Departure with Totem Pole to Thunderbird House
5:00 pm at Thunderbird House, Winnipeg – Arrival at Thunderbird House
5:15 pm to 8 pm – Speakers’ Panel at Thunderbird House

7:15 am at Thunderbird House, Winnipeg – Meet to begin Caravan Journey with Totem Pole to its final destination at Turtle Lodge
7:30 am at Thunderbird House, Winnipeg – Caravan departs with Totem Pole to Turtle Lodge in Sagkeeng First Nation
9:00 am at Turtle Lodge, Sagkeeng First Nation – Arrival and Welcome of the Totem Pole by the People at Turtle Lodge
10:00 am at Turtle Lodge, Sagkeeng First Nation – Ceremonial Raising of the Totem Pole *All are invited to bring their Hand Drums!
12:00 pm at Turtle Lodge, Sagkeeng First Nation – Press Conference
1:00 pm at Turtle Lodge, Sagkeeng First Nation – Traditional Feast
2:00 pm at Turtle Lodge, Sagkeeng First Nation – Giveaway and Presentation to the Lummi Nation *All those in attendance are asked to bring a gift to contribute to the Traditional Giveaway!

9:00 am – 4:30 pm at Turtle Lodge, Sagkeeng First Nation – Round Table discussion to develop shared positions and coordinated strategies to address climate change
Location
At the Turtle Lodge in the Sagkeeng First Nation in southeastern Manitoba: a place built from a vision, with volunteer assistance and which is completely independent from outside organizations, associations and funding. Camping is available on site and hotels are available nearby. Showers will be available at selected times at the Sagkeeng First Nation Arena.
