Ma-Chi-Biness Moose Dodem May 16, 1932 – April 25, 2009 Ma-Chi-Biness, the Late Elder Chief Robin Greene from Shoal Lake (Iskatewizaagegan) #39 First Nation, spoke in 2007 at the sacred site of Manitou Api at the 2nd Annual Igniting the Fire Gathering. WATCH NOW! Ma-Chi-Biness was born May 16, 1932 at Big Island, where he began his journey, and is remembered as a kind, loving, strong and gentle Anishinabe. He was a humble spiritual Leader, Teacher, Healer and Advisor. Ma-Chi-Biness devoted his whole life to helping others. He was instrumental in the work leading to the inclusion of Treaty Rights in the Canadian Constitution. He embarked on his political journey at the age of 16, when he became a Councillor for Shoal Lake. He was also Chief of Shoal Lake for years, and then became Grand Chief of Treaty #3 for many years. He had a great love for all his Gwemas and the many spiritual children he adopted or adopted him. He is remembered as one of the great spiritual leaders of the People. Ma-Chi-Biness had too many accomplishments to mention here. To paint his character and love of life – he loved and played the fiddle, banjo, guitar, and drum. He belonged to The Lake of the Woods drum group for many years. He played hockey. He enjoyed dancing: traditional, jigging and square dancing. He enjoyed the great outdoors and often went hunting and fishing. Ma-Chi-Biness, Elder Chief Robin Greene, had given us permission to share his teachings in this way with the People. Thank you thank you for sharing the teachings from Robin Greene and Kathleen. I met them 30 years ago and they affected my life profoundly. I send gratitude to his family for the gentle care and direction he gave to this lost Cree woman so many years ago. Ekosi!
