The Turtle Lodge congratulates Mi’kmaw Elder and Knowledge Keeper Stephen Augustine, who is the first Indigenous person who now sits on the Nova Scotia Health Authority’s Board of Directors.


Stephen Augustine is the hereditary chief of the Mi’kmaq Grand Council, associate vice-president of Indigenous affairs and Unama’ki College at Cape Breton University, and is a member of the Turtle Lodge National Elders’ and Knowledge Keepers’ Council.
