Ogimaakwe Mary Maytwayashing, one of the authors, spoke at the launch of “Wahbanung – The Resurgence of a People: Clearing the Path for our Survival: A Summary” on March 19 at Turtle Lodge.

She shared about the Sound of an Eagle Mother Earth Lodge, left to us by the late Grandmother Orianna Courchene, that would help strengthen the understanding of the role of the Ogimaakwe – the life-givers.

Have a listen.

Mary Maytwayashing is an Anishinaabe Grandmother and ceremonial leader from the Lake Manitoba First Nation. Her biography can be read here.
