  The Onjisay Aki Youth Climate Summit led by the First Peoples took place at Turtle Lodge from September 16-19, 2016. On the eve of International Peace Day (September 21, 2016), Youth who took part in the Summit released the following Onjisay Aki Statement of Youth & Knowledge Keepers – which was spiritualized in traditional Indigenous ceremony – setting a course for international peace and healing. Onjisay Aki Youth Climate Summit Co-Chair Sadie-Phoenix Lavoie is a 22 year old Anishnabe young woman from Sagkeeng First Nation.  She is currently working towards obtaining a 4yr BA in Indigenous studies at the University of Winnipeg.  She is the Vice-President of External Affairs on the University of Winnipeg Students’ Association.  She is also a co-founder of the Winnipeg based Red Rising Magazine! fullsizerender-6
